My site submission girl sent me an email last night that someone else wrote and sent to her. It states that google is no longer going to rely on meta keywords for ranking but for establishing a strong social presence on facebook and twitter. Does anyone know if this is true? Sounds ridiculous to me for us to be required to run 2 more sights to be high in the engines.

Google has ignored the meta keywords tag for years, that tag is only used by spammers as far as Bing is concerned.

To be high in engines, create unique content. Use a h1 tag for a page title and up to two h2 tags for sub-titles.

Use image alt and title tags, use descriptive image names.

Use anchor titles and link to descriptive page names.

Ensure every page is error free to W3C standards.

Do not have more than 100 links per page.

Link to external sites with the rel="nofollow" attribute.

Look at your page load time, ensure it is less than 4 seconds.

I could go on and on...

Having trouble with a form or need one building?
Fast turnaround, but I do charge :)

Mal's Forms / Scripts and the syntax are here.

    GT,

Thank you VERY much for your info. These are gold nuggets! Now I know why my recipes page is so high in the engines and in my stats. It has the most targets and links than any page on my site. I'm also going to bookmark this to help me with building my updated site. The h1 and h2 tags is something I need to implement.
