Tom - I noticed on your site the US mail version of the gift cert doesn't use the voucher.cfm - it uses the regular add.cfm. Why not use the voucher.cfm?

    Doug,

Those are traditional, pre-printed, paper gift certificates for use at our retail stores. We sell them like a regular product (add.cfm).

Arrrgh. Here is attempt 3. It looks like the forum does not like apostrophes (single quotes). Preview does not seem to mind them.

We sell both online and traditional gift certificates. The traditional gift certificates are pre-printed, serial numbered paper certificates for use only in our retail stores. We sell both kinds because some customers prefer the traditional certificates - most are sold in the retail stores.

I do not think we are unique. I have seen a number of people on the forum ask how to configure forms to sell traditional gift certificates.

Thanks Tom. I didn't realize the gift cert by US mail is not redeemable online.

Here's what I ended up doing to get paper gift certs issuable online:

I made the gift_email into a multi-line text box <textarea> where the buyer enters the recipient's postal address.
    * The US Mail gift cert shows up in the Issue Gift Voucher area with the name and postal address in the recipient's name field.
    * Once issued, the postal address shows up in the email field.
    * The vendor enters the gift cert ID on the paper copy and mails it off.
    * Recipient enters gift cert ID online and it's business as usual.

Tom, what site do you have the gift certs on? Sounds like I'm trying to do the same thing but couldn't find the site referenced in the forum
