After a long illness i am getting to grips with updating all my sites again.

To get sales moving again I want to do an ad campaign with a free shipping voucher. However it seems a bit clumsy to make customers put a code in a box.

Is there any way they can click a link and populate the cart with the free postage? It would only apply to orders over a certain amount so a product called free shipping with a negative amount would not work.

If not then do you think customers would be happy to type a code?

If anyone can get the free shipping over a certain amount you can just set it at the top of the normal shipping calculation setup page. If they meet the requirement they get free shipping. Easy and Done.

The problem I had with that option is I only wanted to offer free standard shipping not prirority or express. This was solveable using premium shipping.

Not everyone gets free shipping over a certain amount - only people who see the advert.

If Debbie doesnt know then i guess there is no way to use a voucher code in a link - she is the bees knees on here :-)

Guess they will just have to type in the code :-)

Thanks Cassie. :) If the customer is to lazy to type in a code they don't care enough if they get the discount or not. I wouldn't worry about inconveniencing them.

Thanks Debbie - guess just getting desperate to try new things.

I will make sure the landing page of the ad has things like "add to favourites" and perhaps "email to friend" to make sure they can remember the code is available.

Hey Cassie, I was just looking in support this morning and noticed something I never noticed before. There is a field called "coupon" Looks like it lets you add a discount coupon code automaticly in your product code. Don't ever remember seeing it before. It might do what you are wanting to do.
