A customer of mine wants to offer free shipping on some products. I can do this easily be rating postage per unit and specifying zero units for these products.

However, he has a minimum shipping charge of 2.00. Would this minimum apply if only free shipping items were added to the cart? If not, does anyone have any ideas how to achieve this?

    Many thanks, Ian

Using advanced shipping based on units, you can specify a minimum charge.

    Is it a premium account?

    Thanks Alan,

Yes it is a premium account and I have set up a minimum charge. Sorry, I now realise I didn't explain myself very well.

What my customer wants is that the minimum charge does not apply when only free postage items are selected. Does this happen and is this possible?

    Many thanks, Ian

Make the first step equal to the required minimum charge. If no units then no charge.

Many thanks Alan. Perfect. I feel a bit foolish now for not having thought of that myself but that was just what I was looking for.

    Many thanks, Ian
