    I work on an old computer with win xp and therefore chrome and firefox work very slow for me - but I keep them for testing the website.

    For day to day use I have k-meleon which is lightweight based on firefox.

    My new V2 responsive site uses "add to cart without going" using a script I think I got from here someone. You add onSubmit="return AddToBasket(this)" to the form.

    It works well on IE, FF & Chrome but does not work at all on K-meleon. You get the popup but nothing is added to cart.

    Is this a known problem with some browsers or a tweak that needs doing to the script.

    I can add a link to the script (or PM) if anyone needs to check it.

    Hope someone can help

    Ok - for some reason this now seems to be working. Have not done anything to fix it so must have been a fairy during the night :-)

    Or perhaps I was just working too late at night.

    But it has made me wonder, if someone has javascript switched off I presume this feature would not work.

    How many people do you all think switch off js ?

    Do you switch it off ?

    Is it a problem on your site?

    Is there another way around adding to basket without going there without using js ?

    Hope someone can answer some of these :-)

    These days if you switch of java, most websites nav won't work, never mind anything else.

    Having trouble with a form or need one building?
    Fast turnaround, but I do charge :)

    Hi GT

    Thanks for that. Must admit that was what I was hoping, but struggle to keep up with new trends sometimes :-(

    Everything seems to be moving so fast these days. I now realise how my mum felt when CD's replaced records :-)

    Ok - this is odd.

    Just gone back to doing the new site again and testing. This has stopped working again in K-Meleon and not adding the pattern to the cart. And yes JavaScript is on.

    I know it works in Chrome and Firefox, can someone test in other browsers and perhaps newer computers please.

    Just "Add to Basket" - you should get a pop-up saying "in basket". But when you click the BASKET link at the top right it is not there.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Clicking on the button says in the popup click the shopping basket link, but there isn't one...

    The page is riddled with errors Cassie...

    Hi

    I know there are some errors as it is not live yet - they are all being checked and sorted - slowly.

    What did you mean about no shopping basket link? It is at the top of the page on the nav bar

    Sorry, didn't see it, I was expecting a cart icon with the word Checkout rather than basket.

    I have changed the popup text to point out where the BASKET link is. I don't like the word Checkout as it implies to me you only go there when you are finished.

    Bootstrap is hard enough to sort out - especially the nav bar - without adding pictures instead of text :-)

    I am still having problems on this site with the AddToBasket script.

    Yes the design is not perfect yet and there may be errors. I really need to know before I go much further if one of those errors is the problem or something more fundamental.

    http://www.knitting-yarn.co.uk/other/m-jgbooks.htm

    I have also tried the GT script for this but that relies on nocart and a return url. Each of the products is put on the page via an include as they may be on different pages. So it can't have a return url as the main page could be different.

    The AddToBasket script is as follows an is in an external file called add.js

    <!-- ADD IT
    // 2004 JY Coding

    function AddToBasket(what){

    if (what.elements){
    string="";
    for (i=0;i<what.elements.length; i++){
    string += "&"+what.elements.name+"="+what.elements.value;
    }
    string=what.action+"?"+string.substring(1);
    }
    else {
    string=what.toString();
    }
    document.addtobasket.src= string;
    alert(" This item is now in your basket. To view your purchases click the BASKET Link on the left side of the Nav Bar ");
    return false;
    }
    document.writeln('<IMG NAME="addtobasket" HEIGHT=1 WIDTH=1 BORDER=0>');
    //-->

    The code in each item just needs the following adding

    <form action="http://ww4.aitsafe.com/cf/add.cfm"; method="post" onSubmit="return AddToBasket(this)">

    Any thoughts would be appreciated - its driving me mad today.
