    Firstly, apologies... I have searched the forum and I'm afraid I still don't understand what I need to do, please bear with me..

    I have built my website in Rapidweaver and am using the Mal's stack as my e-commerce option. Basically I am selling photographs and there are 2 options of prints sizes available. One is A4, that comes with a UK shipping price of 12. The other is A3, this comes with a UK shipping price of 18. This is in it's most simplest form and if I can work this out, at least it's a start!

    Thank you for any advice in advance.

    To answer that, some information is needed concerning multiples.

    How many A4 prints can be shipped for 12?
    How many A3 prints can be shipped for 18?

    How will you charge for a mix of sizes?

    Are there other products with different charges?

    Hi Alan, thank you very much. I think a maximum of 2 prints can be shipped for 18 and 12 respectively, any more they will be damaged in the tubes. If there is an A3 and an A4 print together, then they can go into an A3 tube at 18. I am probably expecting any sales to be for single prints, rather than multiples, perhaps I ask them to contact me if more are required, the postage is being charged at cost price.

    I have no other products.

    Thank you.

    Assuming that you have a Premium (not free) account you could use Advanced shipping.

    Give the A4 product a units value of 1 and the A3 product a units value of 10.

    Your charging will be 'based on the total sum of the units' and the table allowing for up to 4 prints might be

    The first 2 units are charged 12 the band - 1 or 2xA4s i.e.1 or 2 units cost 12
    The next 2 units are charged 12 the band - 3 or 4xA4s i.e. 3 or 4 units cost 24
    The next 7 units are charged -6 the band - 1xA3 and 0 or 1xA4 i.e. 10 or 11 units cost 18
    The next 2 units are charged 12 the band - 1xA3 and 2 or 3xA4 i.e. 12 or 13 units cost 30
    The next 7 units are charged -12 the band - 2xA3 i.e. 20 units cost 18
    The next 2 units are charged 12 the band - 2xA3 and 1 or 2xA4 i.e. 21 or 22 units cost 30
    The rest units are charged 6 the band - 3 or 4xA3 or 3xA3+1xA4 i.e. 30, 40, or 31 units cost 36

    Anyone ordering 5 to 9xA4s would be charged 18 so you'd need to make it clear the the shipping calculation is only valid for up to 4 prints.

    Hi Alan, thank you very much. Unfortunately I've only a free account and at the moment it's not worth me upgrading to a Premium one therefore I'm presuming that my requirements can't be facilitated.

    Thanks for helping me out.

    Kind regards
    Pauline

    Yes, it can be done but may need a simple user exit. Standard shipping is more limited with up to 5 rows in a table. Let me think about it..

    Using standard shipping you'd choose option 7. You could have the first five lines of the previous table, with the 5th line being 'The rest'.

    Or handle 2 prints simply with.

    UNITS COST
    The first 2 ____ 12 _________ works for 1 or 2xA4
    The rest cost___ 6 _________ works for 1 or 2xA3 or 1 of each

    It will also charge a total of 18 for any other combination, however many.

    A user exit option 8 could include something on the lines of

    IF (units=1) { shipping = 12 };
    IF (units=2) { shipping = 12 };
    IF (units=3) { shipping = 24 };
    IF (units=4) { shipping = 24 };
    IF (units=5) { shipping = 36 };
    IF (units=6) { shipping = 36 };
    IF (units=7) { shipping = 48 };
    IF (units=8) { shipping = 48 };
    IF (units=9) { shipping = 60 };
    IF (units=10) { shipping = 18 };
    IF (units=11) { shipping = 18 };
    IF (units=12) { shipping = 30 };
    IF (units=13) { shipping = 30 };
    IF (units=14) { shipping = 42 };
    IF (units=15) { shipping = 42 };
    IF (units=16) { shipping = 54 };
    IF (units=17) { shipping = 54 };
    IF (units=18) { shipping = 66 };
    IF (units=19) { shipping = 66 };
    IF (units=20) { shipping = 18 };
    IF (units=21) { shipping = 30 };
    IF (units=22) { shipping = 30 };
    IF (units=23) { shipping = 42 };
    IF (units=24) { shipping = 42 };
    IF (units=25) { shipping = 54 };
    IF (units=26) { shipping = 54 };
    IF (units=27) { shipping = 66 };
    IF (units=28) { shipping = 66 };
    IF (units=29) { shipping = 78 };
    IF (units=30) { shipping = 36 };
    IF (units=31) { shipping = 36 };
    IF (units=32) { shipping = 48 };
    IF (units=33) { shipping = 48 };
    IF (units=34) { shipping = 60 };
    IF (units=35) { shipping = 60 };
    IF (units=36) { shipping = 72 };
    IF (units=37) { shipping = 72 };
    IF (units=38) { shipping = 84 };
    IF (units=39) { shipping = 84 } ;
    IF (units=40) { shipping = 36 } ;

    but you would need a javascript person (i.e. not me) to package it properly.

    You can include a shipping message in the cart. See cart setup / customize / messages and general settings / shipping message.
