    I am setting up download links and I have two queries.

    1. I'm using the free cart. My button code looks like this:

    <form action="http://ww7.aitsafe.com/cf/add.cfm"; method="post">
    <input type="hidden" name="userid" value="****************">
    <input type="hidden" name="pcode" value="PR001: Product Name">
    <input type="submit" value="Buy Now">
    </form>

    The problem I'm having here is that the product description is being printed in the cart twice, ie. PR001: Product Name Product Name instead of PR001: Product Name. This is also repeated on the receipts.

    2. The download link appeared successfully on the cart checkout page. However, is there a way of getting the download link into the customer's receipt in case they miss the link when they check out?

    OK, having worked on this for a few hours I've nearly got it sorted. I realize my error in the code, it should have been 'product' and not 'pcode'. I think I also needed to put the price tag in too.

    I've also created a custom html template for the receipt and managed to add the Download link to it.

    The only outstanding question I have is, can the download link appear in the text version of the receipt? At the moment it says 'Go to Download Page' but it's not a URL in the text version.

    In the link database in admin where you wrote 'Go to Download Page' also include the URL.

    Debbie Q said In the link database in admin where you wrote 'Go to Download Page' also include the URL.

    My link is currently styled like this:
    <a href="http://www.domain.com/shop/file.html">Go to Download Page</a>

    I am testing it in MailWasher before I download the html version to my email program. MailWasher doesn't show html messages in its Preview pane, only text versions. The other links in the email such as email and account login links are clickable links but the Download link isn't.

    In order to test this each time I have to carry out a transaction which I don't particularly want to do too many times.

    What might I be doing wrong?

    The link in the email won't be clickable but if you did what I said they would at least have the url.

    <a href="http://www.domain.com/shop/file.html">Go to Download Page-www.domain.com/shop/file.html</a>;

    Ah, I see what you mean. Thanks for the idea Debbie but unfortunately it's not really going to work for me as the download page URL will vary according to which product they order.

    The help file says...
    "The price field in the cart is checked against the price for that product in the database, they must match. This is to stop naughty people trying to adjust the price in the cart."

    Does this feature only work with the premium cart? The reason I ask is that I've done a few test orders with a different price and they seem to go through to the PayPal screen without picking up the fact that the price is different.

    Resolved

    OK, I've made another couple of test purchases and have gone right through and paid. With the first purchase I deliberately doctored the price and I can confirm that, after paying at PayPal, the download link didn't show up on the exit page or the customer's receipt. When I paid the correct amount, both links worked.

    Conclusion, the price of the download does indeed have to be the same in the button code as in the cart so this facility works for both free accounts as well as for premium accounts.
