Customer adds item to cart, calculates shipping and when going to payments sees that it doesn't meet minimum order size. He hits "continue shopping" and adds more items to cart. When he goes back to the cart he continues to the next page without recalculating shipping and the cart allows him to checkout with the wrong shipping calculated.

Can the cart be made to force a recalculate on shipping? This is becoming a very big problem since I have a minimum order size.

Have the return link going back to the page they came from, an example is one of our sites:

Add the top item which is less than 15.00 to the cart, then choose UK for shipping...

The return page is the same page, but when they go to a different page to add something to the cart, it allows the lower shipping cost to go along without recalculating. It did the same in your cart when I tried it.

The example I gave has only two shipping zones, so not the best example, sorry...

    Try this site: http://www.dyepack.eu/Albafix.html

Once I add an item to that cart, I see no way to get it out of the cart. The first item I added must have been more than the minimum required.

I added a couple more items to this cart and it also allowed me to go to payments without increasing the shipping amount.

There is a delivery charge, but it doesn't increase as I add items to the cart.

The problem seems to specifically be the "continue shopping " link in the cart. When a customer hits this after receiving his minimum order notice, it goes to a main page on our site. He then navigates to another product, adds it to the cart and when returning to the cart, the cart keeps the old shipping information and allows them to continue checking out without recalculating the shipping.

If the cart content is changed, before the customer checks out the shipping will be recalculated. He can also request that at any time before checking out by using Recalculate.

If you are saying that the final charge is wrong that is something else. Adding items to the cart will not necessarily mean that 'Recalculate' changes the shipping charge. It depends on your tables.

P.S. Should that have read as follows?

    Sorry for the bad link.

My charges are based on units that correspond to weight. The shipping calculator uses actual UPS and USPS rates to determine charges.

I have sent test orders to myself and when do as I described the weight units do not increase and the same low rate stays in the cart. I can actually check out and the cart keeps the same units as the first item if the customer doesn't manually hit recalculate.
