Hi everyone. I have a new website store that I'm working on and never had to do shipping this way before in the shipping settings. I have no idea how to do this in the settings. Vintage jewelry is under a pound and will be shipped first class. I want that to be $2.50. Then the larger antiques will be shipped Priority flat rate in the medium box and the large box. I am discounting these two amounts so medium will be $8.50 and the large box will be $14.50. I have a couple of very large items but they will be free shipping with insurance included. How do I do all this in the shipping settings? Thank you for your help!

https://www.mals-e.com/viewtopic.php?id=31702&mid=31702&fid=2 may be similar. Some questions

Is shipping for each item priced separately? For example would three small antiques cost three times as much to ship as one?

If the order includes large antiques, would jewellery and small antiques be shipped in the same box as the large antiques and be included in that price?

I could put the jewelry in the medium or large Priority box if someone ordered both. Hardly anyone does that so it would be out of the norm. People who buy antiques usually buy only what they collect so it would be all vintage jewelry, all antique glass, etc But it's possible so I never say never. I could even do free shipping for anything under a pound if that will make it easier to do in the cart settings. I looked at the link to the other post and that is the same problem that I am having, but I don't understand the directions. I am so confused. Thank you for your help!

Also, to answer your other question, some would be priced separately. For instance, anything that went in the medium or large box would have to be priced separately because they are too big to put both in one box. But I could do 2.50 for all the jewelry which ships first class.

I just had an idea. What if I assign a weight to the three options? Even though it wouldn't be a real weight because some things in the medium flat rate box are heavier than the large flat rate box, it might make it easier to do in the shipping settings. Would that be easier? Like jewelry-1lb, medium priority box-2lbs, large flat rate box 3lbs, the large stuff that ships for free, 4lbs. How would I do that in the settings? Option 3 only has 1 box to enter info in. Do I choose another option?

SIt down with an ice pack and consider the following.

It sounds as though

1. any jewellery on its own costs $2.50. If there is also an antique the jewellery can go in the box and be ignored.

2. each small antique costs $8.50.

3. each large antique costs $14.50.

Jewellery - a UNITS value of 1. I've assumed not more than 9 items bought.

Small antique - a UNITS value of 10. I've assumed not more than 5 bought.

Large antique - a UNITS value of 100. I've assumed not more than 4 bought.

With those assumptions you could use advanced shipping based on total units - needs a Premium account. The costs are cumulative.

The first 9 units costs 2.50 the band - up to 9 jewellery items

The next 10 costs 6 the band - 10-19 units would be a small antique and maybe some jewellery so one box for $8.50 (cumulative so 2.50+6)

The next 10 costs 8.50 the band - 20-29 two small antiques and maybe some jewellery 2x8.50=$17 (cumulative so 2.50+6+8.50)

The next 10 costs 8.50 the band - 30-39 three small antiques etc so 3x8.50=$25.50

The next 10 costs 8.50 the band - 40-49 so 4x8.50=$34

The next 50 costs 8.50 the band - 50-99 so 5x8.50 (assumed max 5 small) giving a total of 5x8.50=$42.50

The next 10 costs -28 - 100-109 would be one large antique and maybe some jewellery in one large box so price drops to $14.50

The next 10 costs 8.50 the band - 110-119 one large and one small antique so total is 14.50+8.50=$23

The next 10 costs 8.50 the band - 120-129 one large and two small antique so total is 14.50+2x8.50=$31.50

The next 10 costs 8.50 the band - 130-139 one large and three small antique so total is 14.50+3x8.50=$40

The next 10 costs 8.50 the band - 140-149 one large and four small antique so total is 14.50+4x8.50=$48.50

The next 50 costs 8.50 the band - 150-199 one large and five small antique so total is 14.50+5x8.50=$57

The next 10 costs -28 the band - 200-209 two large and maybe some jewellery so total is 2x14.50=$29

The next 10 costs 8.50 the band - 210-219 two large one small and maybe jewellery 2x14.50+8.50=$37.50

The next 10 costs 8.50 the band - 220-229 two large two small 2x14.50+2x$8.50=$46

The next 10 costs 8.50 the band - 230-239 two large three small 2x14.50+3x8.50=$54.50

The next 10 costs 8.50 the band - 240-249 two large four small 2x14.50+4x$8.50=$63

The next 50 costs 8.50 the band - 250-299 (assumed max 5 small) two large 5 small 2x14.50+5x$8.50=71.50

The next 10 costs -28 the band- 300-309 three large 3x14.50 = 43.50 so price drops

The next 10 costs 8.50 the band - 310-319 three large one small 3x14.50+8.50=$52

The next 10 costs 8.50 the band - 320-329 three large two small 3x14.50+2x8.50=$60.50

The next 10 costs 8.50 the band - 330-339 three large three small 3x14.50+3x8.50=$69

The next 10 costs 8.50 the band - 340-349 three large four small 3x14.50+4x8.50=$77.50

The next 50 costs 8.50 the band - 350-399 three large five small 3x14.50+5x8.50=$86

The next 10 costs -28 the band - 400-409 four large and maybe some jewellery 4x14.50=$58

I think that's 25 rows and you can have up to 26 in the table so that's about as far as we can go. The free stuff can have a units value of 0 and will be ignored.
