My first order with the new layout and on the 'List orders' page I see the order and the order number is a link, but clicking on it only puts a bit more info in that page on the right hand side copy below:

    1. No details of what was ordered like previously, I have got the email copy but would like to be able to view it on the web as emails don't always get through.

    2. It says "Status: Paid" is that meaning the payment details were valid. As to be paid we manualy enter the details into our PDQ terminal

Extra on scree (some details changed for security):
    ***********
    Shopper ID: 9990099
    Date: 14 Sep 12:34
    IP: 83.148.135.999
    Status: Paid

    Mr X
    xyz@invalid.com.uk
    Shipping 0.00
    Tax 0.00
    Total 133.00

Ohps just found the "Display this order" link in the details section, this does though mean that there is an extra click required to call this up.
The change seems to be a downgrade or am I missing something!

I agree Chris, I've already had clients on the phone confused...

The popup isn't shown in front of the browser window in some cases, so the client cannot see the order details.

Having trouble with a form or need one building?
Fast turnaround, but I do charge :)

Mal's Forms / Scripts and the syntax are here.

In the old format the orders were show in reverse format so I always had to click the last page number to see the most recent orders. So not really an extra click. Often the only thing I want to see is if a PayPal order has been paid since I don't get PayPal notifications for them. To do that I don't have to open the full order so for me its much easier.

For about 25% of users the "new" admin is not new, they have had it a couple of weeks now...

I would think if you keep the pop-up open then it is the same number of clicks (you don't have to return or use the back button).

The logic behind the change is that we now have a place we can add other options: for example edit the order, resend a customer email, print an invoice, etc. They can just be more links in the mini window.

Sounds like some interesting possibilities Mal. Change is always hard to accept but so far I like what I see.
