Sales Tax Question

    I am a new user and am trying to set up my sales tax but am a little confused.

    Some of my products are tax free.
    Some of my products are taxable but only if the goods are delivered within the same state.

    I can figure out how to set up one or the other, but not both.

    Can anyone tell me if it is possible to set up sales tax to accommodate this scenario, and what is the best way to do it?

    I did it this way on the tax page:
    I selected the 3rd tax basis: Tax calculated using rate set in buy now links.
    Then I used #2 check box and put text "check here if order is from Vermont.

    Then I used a form type order form(post) and added a hidden input type for tax. If I have a page with taxable and nontaxable items I'm going to put in more than one form, one taxed and one not. I also have girft certificates and will have a separate form for that. -Flaggfish

    Here is the form with the tax info(6)
    <form action=""; method="POST">
    <div align="center"><input type="hidden" name="return" value="">; <input type="hidden" name="userid" value="C8205112"> <input type="hidden" name="tax" value="6"> <select name="productpr" size="1">

    <option value="#1022M Eggs in 1 Basket:18:1">#1022M Eggs in 1 Basket Vase - $18.00</option></select><br>

    Thanks so much - that's very helpful. I was trying to make the sales tax work without taking into consideration the shipping options. Now that I have a better understanding of how they work together, it's all very clear :)
